Outdoor Activities and Education in East Devon, England. Greenwood Skills and Environmental Arts & Crafts, Bushcraft / Survivial activities, outdoor parties - the Bare Foot Swamp Walk, School and Group half/full day sessions, Corporate Team Building days, Forest School training and school sessions, woodworking and open-fire cooking equipment. Anglo-Saxon living history settlement.

August 1st and 2nd - we are off to Suffolk to visit the Anglo-Saxon village of West Stow.
September 5th and 6th - back at the Greenwood Centre and Edcott.

Anglo-Saxon Village Volunteer Weekends run the first weekend of each month. The days are friendly events and are free though there is plenty of work to be done while learning the skills and knowledge that kept a rural community alive during the 10th century. Days run 10am-5pm with tea/coffee / biscuits provided but bring suitable outdoor work clothing and a packed lunch or something to cook over the fire. The weather doesn't make a difference to our parties - click on the link below for details. We aim to provide a party with a difference and families tell us we do! Rambles and sludgy swamp walks, toasting marshmallows and sizzling bangers. We can cater for everything but the cake.

These parties have sold themselves via word of mouth and some children have been back for four years in a row so we must be doing something right.

Forest Schools offer a unique educational experience, which takes place in the outdoor environment, ideally in a wooded area. The philosophy behind forest schools is to develop social skills, self-esteem and independence by inspiring and encouraging children through the mastery of small achievable goals. Through spending time in the outdoor environment children can:
Understand, appreciate and care for their natural environment.
Learn how to handle tools safely.
Further develop citizenship by creating opportunities for children to take responsibility for themselves and others.

Escot Education has access to the 220 acres of 18th Century parkland, wetlands and woodland environments at Escot Park, allowing children and adults to experience nature in a safe, instructive and enjoyable manner.

Educational Days Out - Why not bring your class/group along for a fun filled educational day out? Our education ranger and leaders will spend the day with you to ensure you and your group get the most out of your visit to Escot Park and the Greenwood Centre. We can offer such extras as our legendry barefoot swamp walk, complemented by the splash walk, letterboxing, food chains treasure hunt and of course no trip with us would be complete without lunch around the camp fire followed by marshmallows!
